Underwater Mural
As part of a therapeutic project for a leading health provider, It was decided that the children’s play area in the visit’s hall of HMP Rochester was in need of some desperate colour and attention. The residents all agreed they could produce an underwater-themed mural that would reach from floor to ceiling and would be an attractive and interactive game to amuse the children on their visits.
Aims
The piece would have a story line rather than a random collection of underwater sea- creatures and cartoons. The centre piece being a ‘Nemo’ type fish, hiding in the mouth of a much larger and fiercer fish who is following a very Scottish looking worm (worrem”) on a hook. This was suggested by the lead artist and mentor who had a very strong Scottish accent, and made everyone laugh at the Scottish pronunciation The nature of the game, as the title suggests is to find 7 cleverly hidden ‘Nemos’ tucked into various corners and crevices of the mural.
What fun!!
