As part of the Koestler trusts annual cycle of exhibitions, The Turner gallery kindly hosted an exhibition of visual, written and audio works submitted from Kent and Sussex prison. Our artists at Elmley managed to plant 18 pieces out of a total 150 works exhibited in this prestigious gallery in the far south east of England. Tears of Joy, with many colourful streams of ‘tears’, based on the mixed feelings of the loss of a Mother whilst inside, made a fitting centre piece from a student who progressed extremely well in his Art career, including on release.
